Most of our undergraduate majors participate in Undergraduate Research for sometime during their academic program. Undergraduate research projects have included:
- High-energy physics detector development, testing, and assembly
- Creation and study of novel magnetic materials useful in next-generation information storage and computer architecture
- Development of spectroscopy systems for lasers used in sensitive measurements of atoms and trapped ions
- Simulations of magnetic systems to uncover new physics
- and more …
Undergraduate students have been co-authors on scientific publications and presented at scientific conferences.
