| Description | Reflecting the (relatively) parallel beam of light from the stage light off the shiny side of the mirror reflects the cast on the opposite side onto the wall. The effect is created by the cooling rate the mirror experienced at different points on the mirror due to the differing thickness. This variation in cooling across the mirror “imprints” the pattern on the mirror at a micron size level. Shining the lamp off the mirror amplifies the variation into something the can be seen. |
