The next journal club meeting will be September 6th, it will be a problem session where typical physics gre type problems will be attempted.

The topic for the following week will be Dark Matter/Dark Energy so start looking for interesting articles for the meeting on the 13th.

Last years SPS Journal Club was very well recieved and it will be continued this year. For those of you who were not able to participate last year, try and make it this semester. Meetings will take place Tuesdays at 5:00 PM in the SPS room (next to the Focault Pendulum in the engeneering building).

This semester the meetings will focus on two areas - journals and problems. Meetings will alternate between discussing journals and doing physics GRE type problems.

Everyone is welcome to join and a good time should be had by everyone, from Freshamn to Senior.

For the Fall 2010 semester, SPS meetings will be held every Wednesday at 5:00 PM in the SPS room. (AR212 - Next to the Foucault Pendulum on the second floor of the Engineering building)

We encourage anyone, but exspecially new physics majors, to stop on by and join in.

Every semester the SPS takes a well deserved night off and has a group dinner at the local favorite: HuHot-Mongolian Grill. Its always a blast and this semester was no exception. Over 20 people showed up, many brining guests to the party. It was exspecially nice to see some new members joining us tonight. Pictures below.
