Wei Tong
was born in April 1978, in Chaohu, Anhui Province, P. R. China. He
has enrolled for college study at the
University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in September 1995,
the same place where he received his PhD
degree in July 2004. From August 2004 to September 2006 Wei held a
postdoctoral-fellow position at
Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, CAS. In the
past few years, most of Wei's work was focused on CMR materials and related
perovskite oxides, such as manganites, cobaltites, and ruthenates. These were
bulk samples prepared by conventional solid state reaction method. In
addition, he has studied the MR effects, magnetic properties, charge ordering
phenomena and transport properties by the measurements of temperature
dependence of magnetization and resistivity.
In September 2006 Wei joined
Prof. Patton's Magnetics Group at Colorado State University as a postdoctoral
fellow and entered a new research field - microwave magnetism and
ferromagnetic resonance study of magnetic materials.
