Jerry Green    [ jjgreen@ieee.org ]  [ tel. (781) 862-597 ]

Jerry Green graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics, June 1954. He got Ph. D. in physics on June, 1960 at department of physics, Harvard University.

From 1956 through 1993, Dr. J. J. Green worked at the Raytheon Research Division as a Principal Research Scientist. Here he studied the microwave properties of ferrite materials with special emphasis on their behavior at high power evels. During this period he designed the ferrite compositions that were used in many Raytheon radar systems and for microwave components that were sold commercially to other radar system manufacturers. In the latter years his work shifted to the measurement and the design of magnetic and dielectric materials for radar absorbing applications.

In addition to this research in the area of magnetism Dr. Green worked on the modeling of solar home heating and the use of photoconductivity in silicon for control of the transmission and reflection of microwave signals.

Since 1994, Dr. Green has had his own consulting firm, Microwave Magnetics, and has worked with such clients as Raytheon, the Radar Imaging Laboratory of the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, NZ Applied Technologies and The Ferrite Company.

Dr. Green is an affiliate faculty member of the Department of Physics, Colorado State University and a member of the magnetics group. When at CSU and not in the magnetics laboratory his interests include hiking, biking, photography and contra dancing.
