The APS April meeting was held in Denver this year. This annual meeting focuses on particle physics, nuclear physics, and astrophysics and involves physicists from across the country and beyond. The meeting was held at the Sheraton Hotel Denver from April 13th to 16th (http://www.aps.org/meetings/april/index.cfm).

Several members from the department attended the meeting, in whole or in part, with many giving presentations. Graduate students Megan Longo, Matt Bass, Michael Gordon, Jackie Schwehr, Alex Clifton, Dan Ruterbories, Raj Das, and Shamil Assylbekov gave contributed presentations on their research along with postdocs Francisco Salesa Greus, Dan Cherdack, Erez Reinherz-Aronis, and Tomasz Wachala. In addition, Brian Jones, the director of the Little Shop of Physics, gave an invited talk entitled “The Little Shop of Physics: Lessons from Informal Science Education for the College Classroom”. Prof Roger Culver was a co-author on a presentation on Astronomy Education using the Web and a Computer Algebra System.
